Motor homing with kids

With Spring just around the corner, the school holidays will be here before you know it!  Hiring a KEA motorhome with the kids is one of the best and most independent ways of seeing New Zealand. It’s a great way to experience precious family time together and get away on your own little adventure with the freedom of the open road.  Build enthusiasm and get the kids involved with the planning of your trip right from the beginning – where to go, what to see, what to pack etc.

With the choice between a KEA 4 and 6 berth motorhome, you and your family will travel in style with all the comforts of home. So what’s inside and what are the most frequently asked questions?

 Beds –  KEA motorhomes have the biggest and most comfortable king size beds in the industry. Kids love the Luton bed above the driver cabin because it can function as a cave to play or laze around in. The luggage net in the Luton bed also doubles as a handy barrier for kids sleeping up there at night - so peace of mind for parents!

Seating – keep in mind a 4 berth motorhome will have seat belts for four, a 6 berth for six. Anchor points for child seats are also important considerations and are available if you travel with little ones. Bring along board games and art stuff for after dinner activities in the comfortable wrap-around lounge.

Storage – there is enough room in our KEA motorhomes to stow your kid’s toys, books, other entertainment and even a stroller.

Cooking – you will find all the gear required to keep even the hungriest teenage boys fed and watered. All KEA kitchens are equipped with a large fridge, 4 burner gas cooker, microwave and a grill.

Living and Entertainment – KEA motohomes come with satellite TV and DVD player. Even a rainy night can be a fun movie night with the sound of rain trickling on the roof. Campgrounds have heaps to offer too, just open the motorhome door and let your kids enjoy themselves on the playground and meet likeminded friends. Have a BBQ followed by a torch treasure hunt around the motorhome.  So much to do!
