What to Bring

LUGGAGE
- Duffle or soft bags – so these can be easily folded and stored in the underseat compartments of your vehicle. Alternatively KEA offers complimentary storage of your suitcases and we can courier them between depots at $50 per piece if required
- Day Pack/Money belt – always be sure to take your valuables with you
DOCUMENTS
- Passports
- Drivers Licence (the national drivers licence is in most cases sufficient)
- Airline tickets
- Campervan/Motorhome confirmation/voucher
- Vouchers/confirmations for i.e. hotels, camping grounds, tours, ferry crossing
- Travel Insurance details
- Credit card provider details – remember to advise your credit card provider that you are travelling so they do not block your card when you put through a lot of international transactions
- NOTE: Keep a copy of your important documents with a family member or friend at home, so they can fax a copy to you if you lose them.
GENERAL
- Money/Currency
- Credit Card/Debit Card – ensure you know your daily limit
- Mobile phone – be aware of the roaming charges your mobile phone provider may charge. Alternatively, KEA provides every hire group with a 2 Degrees simcard loaded with $5 credit free of charge, for use in your own mobile phone. Most tour operators and campgrounds (as well as KEA) have free-to-call numbers to pre book from your mobile phone also

- Camera, batteries, charger and a spare memory stick – you can’t take too many photos!

- A good read – and look out for book exchanges at some of our depots and other tourist spots. You can swap a book you’ve already finished reading
- Alarm/watch with alarm
- Playing cards and travel board games
TOILETRIES/MEDICAL
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Shampoo & conditioner
- Deodorant
- Razors & Foam
- Moisturiser
- Comb/hairbrush
- Hair dryer
- Cosmetics
- Sunblock (with a minimum SPF rating of 30)
- Insect repellent
- First Aid kit (bandages, travel sickness tablets, cold/flu tablets, aspirin, antihistamine, calamine lotion, antiseptic, scissors, tweezers, safety pins)
- Prescription medicine you may need
- Sewing kit
- Baby wipes (always useful in a camper)
CLOTHING
- Water/windproof jacket
- Light jersey
- Warm sweatshirt - even in summer, nights can be cold in some areas. Do some research about the climate before you go.
- Jeans/warm pants if going to an area which could get cool
- T-shirts/long sleeved shirts
- Shorts
- Smart casual items for going out (dress pants, shirt)
- Nightwear suitable for wearing in communal campgrounds
- Swimming gear and beach towels
- Beanie/winter hat for cold weather
- Sunhat
- Socks
- Comfortable walking shoes/hiking boots
- Sandals
- Shower sandals – they come in handy when using communal campground bathrooms
