Kaiapoi's CamperBank
We’ve had fold-up tables and marquees, shipping containers, and now the latest in innovative banking solutions for Christchurch has opened its doors.
The earthquakes on 23 December closed Kaiapoi branch, but the Bank Manager Judy Mackie and her team weren’t going to let that get in the way of helping their local community for long. So Judy and the local team got to work on finding a solution that would mean Kaiapoi customers can continue to bank conveniently and locally.
So from Tuesday 17 January the team will operate from a campervan stationed outside the branch!
What can customers expect?
The team can offer regular day to day services like opening accounts and pinning cards, whilst the ATM located at the branch will be able to dispense cash and take deposits.
A Westpac branded car will be parked at the front of the branch, doubling up as a Meet and Greet. The team will be ready to help customers with ATM transactions and accompany them to the campervan – which is parked at the back of the branch in a parking lot.
Lending queries can be handled by nearby branches Rangiora, Papanui, Riccarton and Bishopdale, or our Mobile Mortgage Managers.
Great to be back
For our Kaiapoi customers and community, this is a great way we can continue to support them as they continue to rebuild their local area.
“We have had fantastic feedback from our local community and customer's are loving the "can do" approach and the services we can offer at the Campervan,” explains Judy Mackie, Bank Manager.
